HubSpot has recently updated its platform to simplify the process of managing user access and enhanced data integrity. This update brings significant changes to the way user deactivation works. In this blog, we will explore the key modifications introduced in this update and highlight the benefits for HubSpot users across all tiers.
What's New?
The update introduces three critical changes to the user deactivation process:
Deactivation as Primary Step:
The removal option is replaced with deactivation, which preserves user profiles and associated data while revoking access to HubSpot.
Seat Retention:
Deactivated users retain their seats but no longer count toward seat totals, addressing issues caused by removing paid seats during user deactivation.
Visibility in Sales Forecast Tool:
Deactivated users now remain visible in the Sales Forecast tool, ensuring accurate historical sales data for informed forecasting.
How it Works:
Admins can follow a simple process to deactivate a user's access:
- Navigate to Settings
- Access Users and Teams
- Select the user requiring access removal
- Click on Actions
- Choose Deactivate User and follow the sample wizard flow to complete the process.
Deactivation ensures revoked access while preserving data visibility for admins, facilitating smooth transitions and data management.
