When we onboard teams into HubSpot, one of our top priorities is clean data and intentional use of tools and integrations. Over time, it’s common for apps to get installed and then forgotten. HubSpot’s new App Uninstall API helps app partners clean this up automatically, keeping your portal running smoothly behind the scenes.
What’s New?
HubSpot now allows app partners to remove their app from a customer’s HubSpot account automatically when it’s no longer being used.
When this happens:
- The app is removed from the portal
- HubSpot notifies account admins by email
- Admins can easily reinstall the app if needed
This means no surprises and no lost access if someone changes their mind later.
Why This Matters
Unused apps don’t just take up space; they can quietly create extra system activity and make your portal harder to manage over time.
This update helps:
- Keep your HubSpot account cleaner and more organized
- Reduce unnecessary background activity
- Ensure your tools reflect what your team is using
- Make ongoing HubSpot management easier
Who Can Use It
This update is available across all HubSpot hubs and subscription levels.
Our Take
A healthy HubSpot portal isn’t just about setup; it’s about maintenance. Automating the removal of unused apps is another way to reduce clutter, improve performance and keep your systems aligned as your business evolves. If you’re reviewing your tech stack or planning your next HubSpot optimization, this update is worth knowing about.
