Receive Inbound Calls in HubSpot: A Game Changer for Sales & Support Teams

Receive Inbound Calls in HubSpot: A Game Changer for Sales & Support Teams
2:14

For teams that rely on HubSpot and third-party calling apps, the latest update to HubSpot’s Calling SDK is here. You can now receive inbound calls directly in HubSpot, no more switching between apps or missing key call data. Everything happens in one place, making your workflow smoother and more efficient.

Why This Update Matters

Previously, inbound calling wasn’t an option for third-party calling apps within HubSpot. If you wanted to take a call, you had to toggle between platforms, leading to disconnected workflows and potential lost opportunities.

With this update, HubSpot users can:

  • Receive inbound calls directly in the platform – No more app switching.
  • Seamlessly log call data – Keep your contact records up to date.
  • Improve efficiency – Sales, support, and service teams can stay in their HubSpot environment while managing calls.

This is a huge win for businesses that rely on inbound sales and support calls, streamlining communication and keeping everything centralized.

How It Works

Your calling app provider must enable this feature to take advantage of inbound calling. Here’s how you set it up:

  1. Select your calling provider from the Calling Settings page. (Note: You can only receive inbound calls from one provider at a time.)

  2. Click the phone icon in the navigation bar to maintain the inbound call connection.
  3. Keep this tab open to ensure calls come through.

  4. Log into your calling app and set your availability. The phone icon will show a green dot when you're ready to receive calls.inbound-calls-inbound-calls-calling-app-article-image-4

  5. You’ll see an "incoming call" notification on the call icon when a call comes in.
  6. After the call ends, it will be logged in HubSpot. Missed calls will be recorded, and if call recording is enabled, you can review the recording on the call index page.

Important: The pop-up dialer must remain open to receive inbound calls. It will stay in the background during the public beta and won’t automatically refocus.

Who Gets It?

All HubSpot tiers, including Free users.
