Keeping deals moving forward shouldn't require manual data entry every time a prospect books a call. HubSpot has officially closed the gap between your scheduling tool and your automation engine by bringing native meeting properties and triggers directly into Workflows.

 

The Update

You can now build Workflows triggered by meeting events and filter them using specific meeting properties. Instead of relying on complex workarounds to track when a meeting is booked, updated or completed, HubSpot now treats "Meetings" as a core object within the automation builder, unlocking a completely new layer of operational efficiency.

 

The Setup

1. Initiate the Workflow: Navigate to Automation > Workflows and choose to build a workflow from scratch.

2. Set the Core Trigger: Select Data values > Record created as your starting point.

3. Target the Object: Choose Meeting as the primary object for the enrollment trigger.

4. Refine the Criteria: Add specific filters to your trigger, such as filtering for meetings where the Call and meeting type equals "Discovery" or "Demo." You can also layer in criteria from associated Contacts or Companies.

5. Add Actions: Build out your automation steps, such as automatically creating a Deal record upon a booked demo and assigning it instantly to the meeting host.

Professional and Enterprise tiers across Marketing Hub, Sales Hub, Service Hub, Operations Hub (Data Hub) and Smart CRM.

 

The Advantage

Being able to trigger a workflow the exact second a meeting is booked (and filter by meeting type) means you can instantly send prep materials to a client, alert an account executive or automatically spin up a new sales pipeline entry.
