Legacy CTA Migration Feature

With the new Legacy CTA Migration feature, you can now easily migrate Legacy CTAs to new CTAs with one click. This feature is available to users on CMS Pro, CMS Enterprise, Marketing Pro and Marketing Enterprise. Currently, users must opt into public beta testing to utilize this feature.

How Does it Work?

To start migrating a legacy CTA, go to MH-Lead Capture – CTAs and select “CTAs (Legacy)” in the drop-down. Hover over the CTA you’d like to migrate and click “Replace with new CTA. “ A wizard will open to guide you through the migration process:

1. You will be asked whether you want to make a clone of your CTA or use an existing CTA. Using “Clone this CTA” will create a copy of your legacy CTA as the new CTA. Selecting “Use existing CTA” will allow you to choose and replace the legacy CTA with a new and existing CTA.

2. On the next screen, you can review a list of placements where the CTA is currently being used. This includes campaigns, emails, workflows, pages, lists, templates and custom modules.

The legacy CTA will be replaced with the new CTA on each of these placements. Within lists, the new CTA will be appended to the list to keep previously enrolled contacts in the list. List migration also offers three migration options: copy, update and do nothing. Note that email, pages and templates will all show the legacy CTA in the editor after migration. When the page or email gets rendered, the new CTA will appear.

3. After reviewing the list and selecting the right migration option, review the information box reminding you that the migration process is permanent. Click “I understand.” After clicking “Done,” the migration process will be complete.

4. After completing the migration, the legacy CTA will be marked as “Migrated” on your dashboard. You can also access this information by clicking “Preview migration status.”

Why Does it Matter?

With the launch of the new CTAs tool this year, HubSpot plans on sunsetting Legacy CTAs by the end of 2024. The Legacy CTA migration tool/ feature allows you to migrate your legacy CTAs before support ends.
