Podcasts have become an essential part of content marketing, enabling brands to create deeper connections with their audiences. If you aim to optimize your podcast management, HubSpot now provides a Podcast Import (BETA) feature, allowing users to transfer existing podcast episodes seamlessly. This blog will help you import your podcast into HubSpot and set up redirects from your previous host.

How to Import Your Podcast Episodes

Follow these steps to migrate your podcast into HubSpot:

1. Navigate to Podcast Import Settings

  • Log into your HubSpot account.
  • Click on the settings icon in the top navigation bar.
  • In the left sidebar menu, go to Content > Blog.
  • Under Current View, click the dropdown and select Import blog.
  • Click Start new import and choose Podcasts.

2. Enter Your Podcast RSS Feed

  • In the Podcast RSS feed URL field, enter your RSS feed link.
  • Ensure your RSS feed meets these requirements:
    • The RSS feed must be unlocked.
    • Dynamic ad insertion should be turned off.
    • The episode limit should be set to max to import all episodes.
    • Audio files must be in MP3 format.
  • If you have an existing podcast show in HubSpot, select it from the Podcast Show dropdown. Otherwise, leave it blank to create a new show.
  • Click Next.

3. Review and Import Episodes

  • A dialog box will display the total episodes to be imported and any potential issues.
  • Expand the Episodes with issues section to review problematic files.
  • If an episode contains unsupported metadata, it won’t be imported.
  • Click Import to complete the process.

 

Setting Up a Podcast Redirect

Once your import is complete, it’s crucial to redirect your podcast from your old hosting platform to HubSpot.

  • Copy your HubSpot RSS feed URL.
  • Set up a redirect in your podcast hosting platform.
  • In HubSpot, navigate back to Content > Blog > Import blog. 
  • Click the More dropdown menu and select Check redirect.
