Searching for the right clip just got a lot more "visual." HubSpot has introduced a smarter way to navigate your video assets, moving beyond just titles and text to understanding what is happening on screen.
HubSpot now supports visual search within the Video Library. In addition to traditional searching via transcripts and file titles, the system uses AI to analyze the actual frames of your footage. You can now type in descriptions of visual elements, such as "person wearing a red hat" or "laptop on a desk," and the search engine will scan your library to find those specific scenes.
Historically, if a specific moment wasn't mentioned in the transcript or the filename, it was essentially invisible to search tools. This forced marketers to spend hours manually "scrubbing" through hours of footage to find a specific shot.
By making visual elements searchable, you can:
Surface hidden gems: Find b-roll or specific product demos buried in long webinars.
Reduce redundancy: Avoid reshooting footage you already own but couldn't find.
Speed up editing: Instantly jump to the exact second a specific object or person appears.
To get this feature up and running, you first need to ensure your AI permissions are set correctly:
Enable AI: You must have the "Files data" setting toggled ON in your HubSpot AI settings.
Navigate to Video: Go to Content > Video in the global navigation bar.
Toggle the Search Mode: In the search bar, look for the "Search by" dropdown menu on the right side.
Select "Video content": Switch from the default search to "Video content" and type in your visual query.
This feature is available to users with Content Hub Professional and Enterprise.
It’s a massive win for content repurposing. Most teams have a goldmine of video content that goes to waste because nobody has the time to watch it all back. This update turns your Video Library into a searchable stock footage site of your own brand's assets. It’s intuitive, it saves hours of manual labor, and it finally makes "AI-powered search" feel practically useful for creators.
Stop hunting and start finding. By letting AI "watch" your videos, HubSpot has turned a cluttered file folder into a high-functioning production asset. If you have the right tier, flip that AI switch and stop scrubbing through timelines for good.
