For HubSpot users who manage their CRM with an eagle eye, here's an update that will make your life a whole lot easier: the Unified Record Page Editor.

What Is It?

Imagine a single, streamlined interface where you can customize every aspect of your HubSpot record pages. That's the magic of the unified editor. No more jumping between four different setting pages! This new tool gives admins a holistic view of what their teams will see on each record.

Why Should You Care?

Your record pages are the information hub for your customer interactions. They house critical details that drive sales, marketing efforts and exceptional customer experiences. Until now, customizing those pages felt disjointed.

It allows you to:

  • Save time: Ditch the setting page labyrinth! Edit the entire record page in one user-friendly interface.
  • Boost efficiency: Provide your teams with the right information at the right time. This translates to smoother workflows and happier customers.
  • Personalize the view: Craft custom record page layouts for different teams or user levels. Cater to specific needs and optimize workflows.

How It Works

Imagine your record page as a dashboard. You can control what shows up and how it's organized. Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings. Under Data Management, click on the object you want to edit. For example, Contacts.
  2. Click on Record Customization from the tabs up top.
  3. From here, choose the layout you would like to customize.
  4. A popup will appear where you can choose between creating a default view or a team view.

For All Users: Choose "Default view" to make changes everyone sees.
For Specific Teams (Pro+ plans only): Click "Create team view" to customize what a particular team sees.

Now you're in the editing area. Here you can:

  • Add, remove and rearrange boxes (called cards) to show the most important information.
  • Decide how each card displays information based on who's looking at it and what type of record it is.
  • Change the entire left sidebar, not just the info boxes within it.
  • Decide if information appears on the main record page and the preview sidebar (like on mobile) or keep them separate.
  • Control how record previews look outside the main CRM, like on the mobile app or email inbox.
